Barbara Rydlander's Experience
Art on Site is a San Francisco Bay Area program offering
creative learning lectures and tours developed by Barbara
Rydlander. An art historian and researcher, Barbara has taught
art history and art related workshops for more than thirty
years. She brings a lifelong commitment to the visual arts'
community, continuously expanding her base of knowledge through
independent research.
Her academic training includes a BA in Studio
Art from Mills College, Oakland, California and a Masters
in the History of Art from the University of California, Berkeley
with an emphasis on modern art. Barbara also has extensive
knowledge of non-western art collections and the diversity
found in today's Bay Area art scene. She is committed to bringing
forth an appreciation for the diverse cultural approaches
within the creative process.
Barbara Rydlander also has a second Master's degree in Creative
Arts Therapy and is a registered art therapist. She has worked
in rehabilitative settings and has a strong interest in the
healing properties of art and its practice. Finally, she has
traveled widely in Europe and beyond, collecting and photographing
art works, which she uses to enrich her slide collection. |
